Wendlynburgh 236 Installation
Wendlynburgh Preceptory of Knights Templar No. 236 held its 297th meeting at Rushden Masonic Centre on 24th February 2026. The Official Representative of the Provincial Prior was the Provincial Prelate, V.Eminent Knight Tony Avery.
Following the opening of the Preceptory, V.Eminent Knight Avery was admitted under an Arch of Steel, formed by the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard, adding a ceremonial highlight to the proceedings.
The principal event of the evening was the Installation of Knight John Brian Davies, who was installed into the Chair by the outgoing Eminent Preceptor, Eminent Knight Ronald James Feeley, in a most exemplary manner. Upon assuming the Chair, Eminent Knight Davies duly appointed and invested his Officers for the ensuing year.
During the meeting, V.Eminent Knight Tony Avery presented a Priory of Malta Certificate to Knight Peter Wiggins. In doing so, he explained the significance of the certificate while carefully preserving the integrity of the degree for those yet to receive it.
The remaining business of the evening, including the ceremony of the Malta Degree, was conducted efficiently, and the meeting was closed in due form. Members then retired to the bar before enjoying the Festive Board.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all, marked by the camaraderie and fellowship that are the hallmarks of this esteemed Order of Knights Templar.
