Great Priory 2026

Great Queen Street was closed to the public today, the 20th May 2026 as over eight hundred Knights filled the Main Temple. The occasion? The annual meeting of the Great Priory of Knights Templar.

A full agenda was promised, commencing at 12:00 and we were not dissapointed. The Grand Marshall, E.Kt. Tim Wheeler, prepared those present with the knowledge that there were going to be many processions and that we would be better to stand and greet the distinguished guests and visitors in one session than to keep bobbing up and down, not good for the more elderly Knights.

The Grand Master opened the Chapter with skill and confidence and proceded to follow the agenda of the day with steady progress and aplomb. It was also announced that the Grand Master had been given the position of Pro Grand Master of the Mark Master Masons and would take up the new post on the 9th June. No doubt there will be more information on this subject to come.

Of special not fot he Province of Northampton, Huntingdon and Bedford were those Knights that were honoured with First Appointments and Promotions. We wish all these Knights – Knightly congratulations:

Em. Kt. Stephen Wright – Promotion to Past Great Herald

Em. Kt. Scott Frater – First Appointment to Past Great Aide-de-Camp

Em. Kt. Andre Lewis –  First Appointment to Past Great Aide-de-Camp

Em. Kt. Stephen Wood – First Appointment to Past Great Aide-de-Camp

Em. Kt. Michael Pepper – First Appointment to Past Great Warden of Regalia

A great day was had by all the Knights that attended and for those unable to make it, ensure you put the date of next years meeting in your diaries.
