Gloucester & Hereford Knights Templar Provincial Priory
An early start on a Saturday morning can be a challenge when retirement has replaced alarm clocks and busy schedules. Nevertheless, at 7am sharp, two intrepid Knights departed from Huntingdon Masonic Hall bound for Cirencester to attend the annual Gloucester & Hereford Knights Templar Provincial Priory.
Knight Reece Pitts, Provincial Sword Bearer, accompanied by Eminent Knight Rob Taylor, set off in good time to allow for any potential traffic delays. Fortunately, the journey proved smooth and uneventful, enabling them to arrive comfortably ahead of the proceedings and enjoy refreshments of coffee and biscuits upon arrival.
The event was held at Bingham Hall, a community venue gifted to the town of Cirencester by Daniel George Bingham, whose success in the railway industry—particularly in Holland—made the generous donation possible.
Upon arrival, Kt Reece and E.Kt Rob met with our Provincial Vice Chancellor, Eminent Knight Stephen Wood, renewing acquaintances and enjoying fellowship with fellow Knights before the ceremony commenced at 11am. Proceedings began with the Provincial Prior entering beneath an impressive Arch of Steel formed by the Bodyguard. The ceremony then followed the established agenda, including the appointment and investiture of Provincial Officers.
Following the formal proceedings, all present enjoyed the Festive Board, where the camaraderie, friendship, and brotherhood so characteristic of the Knights Templar were once again evident. The day concluded with everyone departing in high spirits, reflecting on another successful and enjoyable Provincial Priory.
